The Beginning of the Journey
The board way is the way to destruction, or eternal separation from God.  This is the way all humans naturally travel on their journey through life unless they choose to follow the narrow way that leads to life.   The Bible states, "I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me."  (Psalm 51:5)  "All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way."  (Isaiah 53:6)  "Your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He does not hear." (Isaiah 59:2)  "You were dead in your trespasses and sins ... indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath."  (Ephesians 2:1-5)

"The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."   (Romans 6:23)

To transform ones position from the broad way to the narrow way requires you to accept the invitation of the Lord Jesus Christ:

"Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved."  (Acts 16:31)
"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest."  (Matthew 11:28)
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him, and will dine with him, and he with Me." (Revelation 3:20)
"As many as received Him (Jesus), to them He have the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name."  (John 1:12)

“Come now, and let us reason together,” says the LORD, “Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow."  (Isaiah 1:18)

Although the transformation of one's position from the board way (the way of death) to the narrow way (the way of life)
occurs instantly upon the acceptance of "the free gift of God", the transformation of one's mind is a life long pursuit.

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,
so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."  (Romans 12:1-2)

"If you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth."  (Colossians 3:1-2)

The one who rejects the "the free gift of God" lacks an understanding of the truth.
The ways of God and the words of the Bible appear as foolishness.  Common sense and answers to life's great questions are difficult to find.

"A natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them,
because they are spiritually appraised."   (1 Corinthians 2:14)
"The god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that they might not see the light of gospel of the glory of Christ."   (2 Corinthians 4:4)

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge."   (Proverbs 1:7)
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."
  (Proverbs 9:10)

The Lord Jesus Christ declares that there are only two ways, or paths, to take during one's life on earth:

1.   “Enter through the narrow gate;
for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction,
and there are many who enter through it.

2.   For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life,
and there are few who find it."  (Matthew 7:13-14)
